Eight Tiny Notes
With eight tiny notes
In music called, the scale
God creates through us
Millions of songs to avail
In such small beginnings
Such growth potential so large
To glorify our Lord
His Majesty to enlarge.
Eight tiny notes
With some relevant flats and sharps
Touch the life and the soul
Like angel’s playing from harps.
Music has a special place—
The Holy Spirit to use
This wonder from God above
Man does sometimes abuse.
Eight tiny notes
Is all that it takes
To produce a symphony
Melody and harmony its stakes.
God requires so little
To work through us all
When to our Father
We reach out and call.
Eight tiny notes
On the piano or guitar
Produce a limitless scope
Of sounds near and far
Music so sweet to our ears
Even the angels draw near
On those eight tiny notes
All music does finally bear.
