Eight Days and Nights

Light the candles, flames so bright
Chanukah's here eight days and nights
Spin the dreidel 'round and 'round
   Potato latkes frying, yummy sounds

A few coins for the kinder
   Precious silver gelt
Chanukah's a minor festival
   ~ deeply felt

Excellent write, Gershon. I had my latkes yesterday and I've been nibbling on some gelt for a few days now. Although I was born an Italian/Jew my mother actually converted to Catholicism before I was born. But for the last 7 years I have been dating a woman who practices the Jewish religion so we celebrate both (lol) Happy Chanukah my good friend. ~CM

Gershon, I always wanted to play with a dreidel. Though brought up in a different faith I am drawn to the traditions. I listened to reciting of Blessings 1 & 2 but not by the light of the Shamash. Happy Hanukkah, -Richard
