Edge of silence
I stood where shadows whispered,
A quiet voice inside me screamed.
Each step felt heavier than the last,
And hope was slipping through my seams.
The world was loud, yet empty,
Faces blurred in passing light.
I carried storms inside my chest
That no one else could ever sight.
I traced the edges of despair,
Fingers trembling on the brink.
The night called softly, promising
A place where I might sink.
Memories of laughter haunted me,
Fading echoes of better days.
Yet even in that darkest hour,
A tiny spark refused to fade.
I thought of those who loved me,
Names etched into my heart’s core.
And somehow, I chose to step back,
To live, to breathe, to endure.
I am still here, still broken,
Still learning how to survive.
And though the scars are heavy,
They remind me I am alive.
For in the moments I almost fell,
I found a seed of fragile light.
A whisper that I could carry on,
And turn the shadow into fight.
