Edge of a Tear

I lost my way a long time ago, feels like I lost my way a long time ago.
Right when I was supposed to be figuring out who I was,
Something frightened me and I was taught to fear and not to trust
So I don't know who I am, what I enjoy, or what I should be doing.

I lost my way a long time ago, feels like I lost my way.
I learned self reliance at an early age, responsibility robbed me of
Self discovery, because I was never taken care of,
No one ever saw me, so friends I lost my way.

I wear a mask because I am confused, I search but can't find me.
Its as if I have been invisible this whole time
I don't know who I am, no one gets me, but hey I don't get myself,
because I was never anyones priority, not really important,
Seen never heard, needed never appreciated,I have lost my way friend,
Feels like I lost my way.

I showed up unexpectedly , so no one planned, or prepared for me,
thus leaving me all alone, so I started off badly friend, that's how I
         became lost so early on.
I couldn't figure it out, even though I really tried hard, I tried really hard you know,
but I just didn't understand, or get it.

So I have lost my way , lost my way a long time ago, and so here I am, now what!

Dear Yvonne.Things might not have been right at the beginning. But now you know your life has purpose. You're a poet. You can express your feelings, empathise with other's.reach them through words and help them share their emotions. The more you've experienced the more you'll understand. You can also learn poetry writing skills without taking anything away from your natural talent.I'm learning all the time by reading other's work here.Congrats on being featured. I like all your work. Love June(S)

My favorite line... I wear a mask because I am confused, I search but can't find me. Sometimes art imitates life. I find this transparent piece full of hope. Kudos!
