Eden's Footprint

Eden’s Footprint

Eden leaves a dainty footprint
In the soul of morning’s garden -
Pensive song whispers in wind chimes.

Eden leaves a dainty footprint -
Dreams of perfect mystery rhymes
Perfection’s haunting perfume lingers

Eden leaves a dainty footprint
In the soul of morning’s gardens.

Thank you so much Jack! This was inspired by a sunny Sunday tending our garden. Maybe I should spend more time there! Blessings to you!

Hi Sam, Hope you are well, I love your short poem, I also love gardens, I created a secret garden, almost like a maze, people used to ring our bell outside and want to take wedding photos in our garden, I miss it so, we still have a lovely garden, but we have downsized and bought a cute smaller cottage with a much smaller garden. Blessings and hugs, Jennifer. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Jennifer! I missed your message - aargh! Thank you. It makes my heart happy to know you loved this triolet! I would have loved to have experienced your garden. In a garden called Filoli near us, there is a medieval knot garden maze of herbs. It is one of my favorite gardens. I wrote about it in the poem called The Knot Garden - original title huh?! It is a special treat to share our love of gardens. Sending you blessings and a hug!

Beautiful triolet, makes me wonder of the beginning's mysteries in the garden.

Thank you my friend! I too wonder. Was out in the garden Sunday wondering why we so love gardens. The thought occurred to me that maybe, just maybe, there is still a hint of Eden in a garden - a reminder of paradise. Blessings of beautiful gardens to you. So grateful for your visit to my garden. PS - sent this several days ago but somehow it was sent back to me. Aargh!

Thank you Andrea! Was out in the garden thinking about why we so love gardens and decided that maybe there is still a hint of Eden in them calling us back. Hope all is well in your garden! Blessings.
