Eden In Passing
To enter the forest you must
know the characters by name
garter snakes that tempt
chipmunks the dog chases
undergrowth of grasses
on a hill that leads to the lake
and all is rich and green
childhood summers Eden in passing
lessons of fall to remember
in the winter of your life.
