Eden

Within the willows, close to the glades,
Lays the land of yore.
I ventured one day to find the place,
But found it quite a chore.

It was told, so many years ago, of the land;
Fruitful and divine.
I had to venture, try to understand,
To try and make it mine.

The more I sought, the further I traversed
Away from milk and honey.
I needed to find, to quench my thirst,
But then ran out of my money.

I labored and toiled and wanted that prize,
Never, finding the land.
I then opened my heart and closed my eyes
In order to understand.

Seek not the soil, the earth laden garden
For Eden is a reward.
We will find it when we have departed,
If decided by the Lord.
