Eclipse Day

Today is the day of total eclipse.
The moon will cover the sun.
Grab your glasses, drink and chair,
Go outside and have some fun.

The sun will be shining hot.
Don’t forget the sunscreen,
Because if not you will burn.
That’s a sight no one wants seen.

It happens about my nap time,
So I’ll probably be asleep.
But if somebody wakes me up
I’ll go out and take a peek.

Don’t forget to wear those glasses.
You don’t want to burn your eye.
The highways will be busy,
So, I pray no one will die.

Everyone be safe out there,
While looking at the sun.
Make the most of this day.
Hope everyone has a lot of fun.

We didn't get to see it too far north but I heard it was spectacular. I liked your poem sounded like something my mother would have said when we were young guns. Made me feel kind of soft and reminiscent.

I hope you woke up for a peek at the eclipse. Only a partial one here, and we had lots of clouds, but I got a look at it. Saw some great crescent shadows through the trees too.

What a lovely fun descriptive poem Tommy:-) I hope the sun is shining for those who have traveled to see this event - here on our little Island we are only going to get a partial eclipse and as it is a grey dull wet day its highly unlikely we will see the sun at all lol:-) hugs jan xx
