Echo's of Time
Echo of Time
A box of memories
Tattered and worn
Tarnished baby shoes
Years after their born
Holiday decoration
We cannot repair
A teddy bear torn
Won at an old state fair
Birthday pictures in black and white
Lines on the doorway measured their height
One cardboard box tells a lifetime of living
Closing my eyes I can see their sparkle in the night
I can smell the sea air; taste its salty brew
Laughter of siblings a sand castle or two
Will always be the echo calling up old times
Just like this old box full of tales and rhyme
Calling me through
An echo of time
