Notes About The Poem

This was a reeflection of my youth.  Any suggestions?

Echoes of Youth

Echoes of Youth
Kevin Davis 2024

In evening’s hush, when the world grows still,
I drift through memories, wandering at will.
The laughter of childhood, a sweet, bright song,
Threads through the heart where it’s lingered all along.

Sunlit summers that never seemed to end,
Backyard adventures with each dear friend.
The innocence of youth, a jewel held tight,
Now whispers softly in the fading light.

My parents have gone to their quiet rest,
Yet their lessons of love remain in my chest.
Their faces remembered, their voices I hear,
Guiding me onward though they’re no longer near.

Friends of my youth, some lost to the years,
Moments of joy entwined with tears.
Dreams we once chased with hearts full of flame
Now shimmer like shadows that softly remain.

Within my heart, those bright days reside,
A sanctuary where past and present collide.
Though time moves on, and youth slips away,
The spirit of those days will forever stay.
