Echoes of Pain

It is hard not to cry
 When you see dreams die
They are young but in the grave they lie
Gifts, talents, hope gone as if they didn't try

It is painful to hear a man sigh
A few years ago all hopes were high
Now all he looks is to the sky
He tries, he strives, but his success seems shy

How do you feel when a mother faints
All her live she strives for a picture to paint
A clear one for you even if hers is faint
If only this place were merciful she will be a saint

My generation suppresses the young
 They flash age as wisdom
They tell the youths to be strong
While they lavish the wealth of the kingdom

A song must be sang
To free our minds from slavery
It is not getting better, we feel the pain and pang
Silence here is not winning yet chaos is not bravery

Cry yourself to sleep but please wake up Africa
The world is moving fast, don't just run after it o mother
If we must be purged, let our hearts be
For at all cost a brighter future we must see

Nigeria breaks my heart, yet her love I must seek.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
