Echoes of Goodbye

He watched her leave that autumn day Yet he seemed to not know why His boozing should have given it away All he heard next were echoes of her goodbye Years later he thought of that moment Now he wished she had not left A moment that replayed to his discontent He felt loss, emotionally bereft He became a prisoner of lost love Trapped behind the hands of time A moment he often thought of Still hearing the echoes of her goodbye chime 9-1-2021

So sad Joseph, and yet how often does this happen worldwide, every day of the year - a wise poem, hope many heed it for themselves or to be able to tell others. Very well penned my friend. Hugs,Blessings, Jennifer.

"His boozing should have given it away" So true, but that's not always the case. Addictions take over your life. Your thoughts hold many emotions and they touch my heart deeply. ~ Brandy

Good penning, Joseph. I'd like to say I feel sorry for him, but, I can't. He made his bed and now he must lie in it. The poem itself, however, has my admiration.

He has only himself to blame Joseph, many relationships ruined because of it. For many its an addiction and its all downhill. Hope you're keeping well. Tom
