Echoes In the Wind
Ancestors who braved the seas
Just wanting to be free
From the line in the sand at Bunker hill
To the conflicts today that test our will
Echoes in the wind
Cries and screams of dying men
Listen with your heart
To the limbs and lives torn apart
Look toward the sky
With reddened watery eyes
Then kneel and ponder with awe and wonder
Our courageous brave men that have died
Echoes in the wind
Listen with your heart
In solemn solitude
A debt of gratitude
A debt yet paid to the men that laid
Their lives on the line for you
Echoes in the wind
Listen with your heart
We ask the powers that be
the day of accountability
momentarily pause, consider the cause
Please take their souls with thee
Echoes in the wind
Cries and screams of dying men
Listen with your heart
To the the limbs and lives torn apart
Help us pay the debt we owe
Please take their brave and wounded souls
Echoes in the wind
Dedicated to all veterans living and dead.
