Ebb-Tide

She floats on an ebb-tide
in the slipstream of life
and all her ambitions
are but transient dreams
which mark the divide
between nature
and nurture
while downstream
the essence of summer
always just out of reach
lies waiting

At the turn of the tide
she will leave behind
the wistful sighs
the sorrowful eyes
to embrace once more
the adventure called Life
where, upstream
lie strength and beauty
and in the distance
