Eavesdropping On a Goodnight Kiss
See night in his suit of gray,
bending low to kiss the day.
She's so modest, timid, shy,
that's her blush in the Western sky.
Deepening it lingers there
as peeping stars come out to stare.
But even they cannot persuade
night to raise his pulled down shade.
