Seven-Ten
Created by Emile J. Pinet in 2018, (Seven-Ten), (must be centered). There should be a distinctive pattern. Do not use blank spaces to create shape, use words. A non rhyme, twenty two line verse poem with (190 Syllables) - 7 7 10 10 10 7 7 10 10 10 7 7 10 10 10 7 7 10 10 10 7 7

People prepare for the worst, for democracy’s struggling. Worldwide ideologies lean fascist right, dictators, potentates, and tyrants rule unconstrained by any semblance of law. The young don't recall past wars or what their fathers fought for. Politicians sell fear packaged as hope through accusations and false promises, till the downtrodden elect their jailers. Like sheep to a hungry wolf, the weak are easy pickings. I've lived in a bubble of misplaced trust oblivious to the plight of our youth, dismissing the homelessness on our streets. But bubbles burst over time, and reality kicks in. Nations get geared up for another war, as allies choose sides like they did before, fueled by pure propaganda and greed. I had hoped to outlive hate, but that future may not wait. (Seven-Ten) 06/29/2020
