Easter Lessons 10

Dear World

I knew a man of whom I once said,
"You are the Christ, the son of the
Living God".

I later denied him, afterwhich he
Looked at me:

Not with the eyes of "I told you so",
But with eyes that said, "I got you".

Not with the eyes of "Shame on you",
But with eyes that said, "I got this".

Not with the eyes of, "You shouldn't have",
But with eyes that said, "I'll be back".

Not with the eyes of "Guilty as charged",
But with eyes that said, "You are forgiven
Because I love you".

Sincerely,
Simon Peter
