Easter
EASTER
Many think of Easter in terms of eggs and things,
But it’s not of the rabbit that I so gladly sing.
E is for the early morn when Christ arose that day;
A is for the angel bright who to the men did say,
“He is not here, He’s risen,” oh, sing and shout today;
S is for salvation free He gave through Calvary’s way.
Children of the world sing on this Easter day
About all of their candy and colored eggs so gay.
T is for the tomb now bare; of it I’d rather sing;
E is for eternal life that Christ came down to bring.
When I sing now of Easter, I sing of Calvary’s love.
R is for redemption free He brought down from above.
Music has been written to these words.
