Notes About The Poem

We felt an earthquake the first time in Las Vegas. Now it has come home.

Earthquake Today

Earthquake Today

Face Booking our computers
The time, a little after eight
We felt our house begin to shake
Thought an earthquake was our fate

Right away I googled,
To see if I was right
I beat the TV to it
As, when I did, I thought I might

Turns out it was a 5.1
About a hundred miles away
About five K within in the earth
A great way to start the day

Just a little news from us
To let you know we're still alive
Still hiding from the covid
Not on a Sunday drive
