Early Birds

Birdsong
With curtains drawn,
The sky outside
Is black, and warns

Me not to leave,
To stay inside,
Go back to dreams
Where we don't hide.

Although I'm in
An empty bed,
I lie with you
Inside my head.

I fall in love,
And fall asleep,
And waking, know
I'm yours to keep.

This enchanting poem has impressed me, Annie. Short of words but filled with emotions. Reflective of hurts of loneliness. You are smart with your smooth flowing pen. A glowing poem written in a dark lonely night. I wish you a Happy & Prosperous New Year filled withe Blessings of God. -Mohammad
