Eagle, Globe and Anchor

I walked outside today
As I watched the sunrise
I thought of the item that was handed to you
After the crucible
The Eagle, The Globe, The Anchor
I know to you it meant you made
It through the toughest 13 weeks of your life
It means that now you are a MARINE
You learned and trained hard
you proved that "you did it"
But to me it means so much more
The Anchor
Is what holds you in what you believe
It is the strength that will keep you grounded
The Globe
This is for everything you will see, feel and explore
The Eagle
Those are the wings for which you where raised
The wings that will help you soar so far in your life
Because you see my son you have been My Eagle, My Globe and My Anchor
Since the day you were born

Hi Jennifer, this is such a beautiful, touching dedication to your son that I can so easily identify with. When you have a spare minute, please take a look at my poem, "Tribute to Jayson, My Brave Warrior" who is in the Army. Please accept my best wishes and I pray that your son will be safe from all harm. Warmest regards.
