Each Passing Day
As I wake up
Early in the morning anew;
Still hoping that the sun
Shall come shining through.
The nights before
In the dark I was alone;
Crushed and shattered,
I did silently moan.
The mornings after
Were the same as before;
Sorrow engulfed my mind;
As it did to my heart's core.
I didn't know
What hit and struck me;
Worse, no one knew how
To save me from agony.
I couldn't eat
And sleep well enough;
Presence of mind I needed
During those times so tough.
The pain of anguish
Put me in disbelief;
How could I overcome
The anxiety and grief?
Now I look up
As my teary eyes I close;
I say a fervent prayer
To help me stay composed.
Each passing day
Is a blessing from God above;
He makes me all the more abound
In faith, in hope, and love.
