Iven never been a big Dylan fan but at the end of the day songs are simply poems set to music and for that i applaud him and you for writing about him:-) hugs Jan xx

I've tried to get into him, I really have. But I find listening to his songs to be a chore. I really can't understand what people see in his music. A poet, okay. But I wouldn't play a Dylan album if it was given to me wrapped in gold. Just my opinion of course.

John Denver and Joni Mitchell are ok. In fact my wife and I saw John in concert many years ago. I feel the same way about James Taylor as you do Dylan. I like a wide range of music from folk to bluegrass to classic rock to jazz and blues. So Dylan is not my sole go to.

I just don't get him and I often find his lyrics rambling and nonsensical, with exceptions. Give me James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, John Denver any day, though generally speaking I'm a classic rock fan

To each his own. There is much music I dont care for. Pink Floyd ofr instance is touted as a great all time band-they do nothing for me. Queen is another one-I absolutely turn them off if they come on to the radio. I like a variety of music so it depends on the individual artist or band. I will say this about Dylan-more musicians have covered his songs then just about any one else. So he must have done something right.
