Dying Lady

She’s waning from my sight in nighttime sky, A glinting smile as she whispers goodbye, Although I love her dear, my heart’s not sad But then you think I am just crazy mad Because I dream away each lonely day And sing of love while Lady is away Her beauty is growing weary and pale And still she shines above old heaven’s veil Alone among the stars every night Yet eyes still strain to catch her fading light Before her rest and skies in darkness fall Until once more I waken to her call.
