Dying Because We Are Living Is a Sad Song To Sing

I'm surrounded by heartache
one more straw till my back breaks
and I don't know of this
how much more I can take

everything seems to be fake
every time that the day breaks
all these complications
are all you seem to make

I'm alone with my guitar
you have driven me too far
away from what it is
that I think I should be

she can make me a monster
whenever want comes to her
she seems to be wanting
just to complete her day

yeah well sometimes I stay drunk
so I don't have to confront
what it is like to be
sober all through the day

I'm more broke than a dropped egg
there will be no breakfast today
don't think I even got no attention to pay

make me the devil
that dies when the bell rings
make me an angel
with a new set of wings
show me a heaven
I can hang onto
dying because you are living
is just a sad song to sing

I'm surrounded by heartache
that last straw made my back break
I'm beginning to think that
I have made a mistake

when will I get a vision
to remove the division
In that big black curtain
Of pain that's fallen on us

I need to find a purpose
before I leave in a hearse
just shred me a reason
I should not take my life

why was I not made special
where the hell is my threshold
why does everything
seem to be getting so cold

if I was given talents
perhaps I could have found balance
people would have gather around me
to hear what I had to sing

among bottles and needles
needlessly I took my life
all I seem to remember
my wrist catches and knife

make me the devil
that dies when the bell rings
make me an angel
with a new set of wings
show me a heaven
that I can hang on to
dying because we are living
is just a sad song to sing
