Dying

I’ve set sail on the ocean just my savior and me
Not a care in the world, I have everything I need
The stars guide my way and the Lord my path
I’m strong from bow to stern, I’ve completed all the math

My mast is tall and full, my clothes are fresh and clean
I’ve handled all of my business, my love’s been felt and seen
The shorelines getting smaller, I can see my family tree
I still hear their shouts and laughter, I’m as proud as I can be

Their voices now are gone, I’m halfway across the sea
It’s time to break some bread, just Jesus Christ and me
It’s been a lovely voyage, a new shoreline comes in view
I’m hearing familiar voices, I’m not sure what to do

I hear new shouts of laughter as I look to the other side
I’m seeing familiar faces, each smiling big with pride
The welcome wagon’s here, then Jesus takes my hand
I see the light within each face as my toes now touch the sand

I like knowing that you are going to be welcome by the "welcome wagon". I think we all are!
