Dust
Through the window I see streaming
In the prism of light
Dust snickering, piling, rising, flicking
Cluttering my sight
How did it here? So much, so much
Little things add up
And seconds in into years too rush
Leaving naught in the cup
But dust, dust, dust, everywhere
When all the world shall disappear.
And through all our life and its meaning
Was this for all we came
For all the time of learning and scheming
For the passion's flame
For the giving and getting and buying again
The house come to this
Like mountains crumble to the plain
Dust is all that exist
And I shall wipe the dust of my tears
And sleep as dust in the dusty years.
Degrees, status, wealth, name, caught
On the mirror cold
O God what else was there, when naught
But faith does unfold
What other lie cannot be created or destroyed
What other pyramid falls
For all is dust in dusty zeal employed
Dust to dust now calls
But I beyond buzzards brimming the light
Held faith firm through blizzard of night.
