Notes About The Poem

Dusky Dancers

Night's falling
Slow dance
And music's drifting out of doors
Under the stars the ocean roars
Whirl dip
Fragrance fest
Mellow moon

Scarlet sunset
Almost gone
And Mars can be seen above
In the season of the dove
Diamond stars
Pearl moon
Summer dance

Warm breeze
birdsong trees
A night of color and song
And the moments move slowly along
Laughter inside
Gay revelers
Dreamy days

Oh nicely done Evelyn. Sounds to me like a summer dance held on the beach. The music drifts outdoors to the softly lapping waves as you dance and play on the beach. Lovely. This took me there God Bless, JB

Evelyn, You described a fine time of day for a dance 'Warm breeze ~~ birdsong trees ~~ A night of color and song.' I could listen to your Verse go on and on. -Richard

Your enchanting verse resonates deep within me, so suggestive of a "Martian Chronicles" reincarnation or restoration... The book was written by Ray Bradbury in about 1950 or so, and I could swear that you and he drink from the same poetic cup in describing elusive, colorful dance scenes. Bravo, Evelyn! ~ Gershon

That is quite interesting, Gershon. I'm so glad this musical verse struck a chord with you. Thank you for your wonderful comment. Evelyn :=)
