Attack on Pearl Harbor, Oahu, Hawaii happened 75 years ago today,

1941


harbor
warm with

heartbeats
pulses
friendship

villain 
planes fly
above

sunday’s
ripcord
is cut

sailors
are trapped
they scream
for help

nice day
explodes

on land
on sea
in news

frozen
In time

This gave me chills, Kim, as I just finished watching a documentary about this horrible date in history. Well captured using such a tight form! Best wishes in the contest. Hugs, Sandra

Thank you, Sandra! I used to wait for the boat back from Ford Island, and think how people on that morning in 1941 had no idea what was about to happen. Surreal!
