DUMPING SURPLUS FOOD

Discreetly sent to landfill site
then buried out of public sight
where it will slowly rot away
with other waste sent to decay
surely this is morally wrong
in times when people are starving
sell-by dates are partly to blame
as they maintain the profit game
but is this practice really right
dumping good food in landfill site.

Kim Rodrigues December 27, 2024 at 2:54 PM Still, telling a child eat everything on your plate, never solved the hunger problem. And yet, shouldn’t we curtail our waste. Perhaps part of the trouble is everyone is so busy they just do what is easiest. It all feeds into the system. This is not well thought out…just a couple thoughts. It was seen as a sin to waste food. Managed properly we wasted no food. I still have my Ration Book and some unspent coupons still there. All the best and Happy New Year. Tony.
