Dumb Poem

Life coming at me like a huge tide
Compassion in me is trying to hide
One step from being a badman
Always having to be the sad man
Wanting to stay up all night
But having to do what's right
Torn between what the heart desires
Those inner fires
If I could only stop before comes the heartbreak
but that's the chance you take
Getting lost to any moment in time
Like being lost in the words of this rhyme
Hearts break
people take
Compassion
No longer the fashion
Can't buy love, only rent it for a short time
You become a broken mime
The payment for love is a broken heart
But you knew that from the start
Willing to try
Once more fly
The taste of love, so sweet
Bitter the defeat
Once more lost in the rhyme
How long this time
Not long enough
I'm not that tough
To many times broken
Memories are just a token
Silent echoes there to remind
Getting stuck in rewind
What was to be
Not sure I wish to see
Only so many times can you use glue
After love flew
What's one to do
Pieces that fit ,are no more
Fell through the cracks on the floor
Forever means but a short time
No happy ever after rhyme
Not for me
But my soul is free
Older
Bolder
Not so in need of love
No pure dove
Surfing through the tide
From life I no longer hide
Not afraid to stand alone
Despite what life has shown
Maybe I've grown
Learned the only person you need to be true to,
Is you
