Drowning Inertia

I spend my days
Trying to reconcile
Who I am With who I'd like to be
Making choices that further
Blind and defeat me
I've lost the inertia of my life
with the intimate knowledge of my failures and shortcomings
in hand
I wait
Feeling pale and lost
in the wicked pull of things
I know I cannot have
The world moves over me
A massive current
drowning a grain of sand

Thank you David. It's just hard to embrace the person I've become. I'm sure I won't always feel this way. Thank you for your kind words.
