Drowned By Patience

For your sake I drank every tear,
For your sake I hid any fear,
For your word,
I want to hear,
When walking this path,
The bends and curves remind me of no one as dear,
Where are those words that had told promises as clear?
To be remembered and fulfilled,
While my disappointments became a cheer,
My life's light set itself aside,
Not knowing which pain to bear,
But when God is there,
Why should I breathe this fear in my lungs?
That settles against the wall like a mirror,
And how long will my reflection stare back at me as it views a girl drinking her every tear,
The one who’s past had sunken or a fear in her world filled with tears,
Beneath the surface of her tears,
So much that no one sees why she left her purpose,
That had alarmed that day as many drowned in fear,
