Dropped Ball

It’s such a tragedy the way it all came about, Tell me did you lose your soul when the spit you out, Well I have no doubt, no I have no doubt. You were running scared when I seen you last, I tried to reach out but you went on past. Help was there you never had to ask, you never had to ask. I tried to catch your tears I tried to collect them all, Then I seen your face before you took the fall. Look how you hit the wall, oh how you hit the wall. So I’ve been standing out here trying to figure it out, How can you accept so much pain and refuse my help. I had loved you all along and this I know, I never wanted to be someone else I just went with the flow. I wanted to give you my heart and so badly let you in. I’m guessing you couldn’t see it clearly blinded by the sorrow and the sin. My help was always there and now were both gone, Just heading down different roads as I’m lost in this song. Tell me what went wrong, how did it all go wrong. The harder I would try the further you would push away, I lost all my strength, forever was too long to wait. So it must have been fate, it had to be fate. So as it usually happens you were lost with time, You went your way and of course I went mine. No use in asking why, I’ll never know why. You lived life quick and you burned out fast, No point on looking back to haunted past. It’s too hard to grasp, something I just can’t grasp. Now there’s no “hey how are you doing?” no reunion call, So many things could have been different we could have had it all. I guess we dropped the ball, how did I drop the ball.
