Driving
Construction signs decorate the winding road,
hissing patience into the driver's ears.
Sheltered feet caress the silent gas pedal,
while human hands molest innocent gears.
As glass windows grasp the vehicle's roof,
a variety of music blasts the trapped air.
Voices haunt the moving metal cage,
freezing time in a traveling mechanical lair.
Limbs succumb to the disease of sleep,
after being stuck in one boring place.
Trained eyes scan the changing path,
a fellow rat following the fickle human race.
