Drivin

After years of contemplation
It came to my attention,
The reason for my infatuation
With the poetic art.

Was it the challenge of the rhyme
Similar endings all the time,
Or the hope for recognition
For what I could impart?

Or was it the desire to give birth
To thoughts of joy and mirth,
Exposing my imagination
And some of my heart?

While these all are partially true,
It’s the freedom to share with you
Through my own implementation,
Means I’m Drivin’ from the start.

Excellent poem Jack, I think unlike other writers, poets have a need to share their thought processes, well written verses, kind regards, Kevin
