Drive By

Some of us know
What violence has to show .
Senseless hate.
Changing all it touchess fate.
Any more, most don't care.
It doesn't seem fair.
They get thrown in some jail.
A chance to make bail.
My nephew, he didn't get another
chance not to be killed by you.
We still hurt this is true ,
This pain will never to go away,
But your still alive today.
We lost what was a piece of our heart
Among us He is no longer a part
What you took ,you can never repay.
Nothing you could possibly say ,
Can place him back at our side.
The tears we have cried.
The pain,
The stain,
Of life without his smile,
He was with us but for a little while.
I see another soul was lost.
Another pays the ultimate cost
 Can almost feel their rage.
We try hard to turn this page.
But I keep seeing this war hate does wage.
Killing without a second glance,
Doesn't ask if the victim deserves a second chance.
Lost in the pain
We live with this stain.
Only thing I see for me to do
Is not to give my soul to you.
Turn my back on my own hate
 won't share in your fate.
Let the rage go
But I want you to know.
The love I continue to feel
You could never steal.
That's for real
