Dreamtime: My Friend Ivan

after Ivan's wake, later that night while I slept,
 I had a dream..........

suddenly! I was in a parking garage below ground,
it was dark and oil-greasy, I was standing near a car,
a big old four-door

and on the other side of the car stood Ivan
motioning me to come to him......

I started around the side of the car,
but my feet felt like lead buckets......... I could barely move

I couldn't seem to get to him.......

 and reached out to him.......

exclaiming "Ivan your dead! do you know your dead?"

.......with that peaceful smile Ivan always had,
he replied "jimmy! (he always called me jimmy)
I know, I'm ok, come here, I have to tell you something"

he reached out his hand to me,

.............and disappeared

OH, boy, he disappeared before you could get the message. DANG. That would be quite a dream, James!! I used to have recurring dreams of my dead stepbrother. But instead of being taken from us by a drunk driver, in my dreams I imagined he was still with us; however, slowly dying of cancer. I think I dreamed this because he was taken so suddenly and we never got to "prepare for it" anyway, I really liked your writing here. And thanks for commenting to my blog. Andrea

James, Since SM's not working properly. I have to find another way to tell you a story. This comment box I'm afraid is a little too small. I've tried fitting it in but no luck. Sorry. Have a good weekend! Thanks so much for your comments! Peace and love, Audrey

Awesome! My great grandmother told my Mom that our friends and loved ones are nearer to us than we know. The first 40 days after death, if we are truly observant we will see the evidence! Soup Mail!

Interesting write. Don't know if true or based on truth but sometimes people do have these happenings when they lose someone close sorta like a hallucination. Interesting topic on which to write. Keep writing. Sara

What a compelling dream, Jim! I do believe those we love try to reach out to us when they know how much we are missing them. Over the years, I have had night-time visits from my late mother, father, husband and friends. This seems so real! What a great poem! A favorite for me now. Love, Carolyn

Oh, James, I had a similar dream about my mother. We were all four sitting around the dinner table (parents both deceased) I looked at my brother and wanted to make him aware our parents were dead but Mom stopped me and telepathically prevented me from telling my brother about their "condition" and then I woke up. Great narrative here. Love, Iolanda

Dreams always make me wonder ...."What was that all about??"...I spend the day pondering what triggers the mind to dream such strange things" ....the mystery of the brain is like poetry....just takes it's imgination and runs like the devil!!
