Dreams Which Nag

a strange awakening
bathed the brain
fogged the eyes of night
remnants of dreams
unshakeable
looming still
with dawns new light
feet on the ground
grog wears off
carbon pops
xylophone tickle up the spine
still this dream
a taunting tease
pleads definition
I know not why
