Dreams of Yesterday Broken Hearts of Today

Funny looking back on the past to see How we all once were And who we were wanting to be It's all so damn clear again Not any longer is it a distant blur Those memories are now awakened and causing quite a stir Moments that are etched forever in time And in my mind Loving you well then it was my only crime The tings we said to each other The promises that were made You holding me as right there next to you I laid Who would have guessed that when we opened our eyes several years would come to pass Gone away in the blink of an eye, gone away all to fast Guess we had to sometime back then say goodbye But did we really even try And now I know we each feel and understand how we felt and still feel now even more Than we ever had been able to before I found you can't push them down you just can't control Those feelings will haunt you they won't let you go So now tell me please let me know Can you really look deep into her eyes as you once looked into mine And completely hand over give to her your soul Or do you long for someone else to have and hold You and I have never been able to let each other go What we feel still runs deep never has it ever run cold You know you do still wrestle with those emotions, yes I know I've to been there with these feelings I have for you But once I let the fight go I realized what had always been right there in front of my face No other man could ever take your place There you are running away from me again Hurry I'm still right there behind you so you need to pick up your pace You can't face me you don't know exactly what to say So we keep right on living without each other because right now to be back together well there's just no way All we have for the moment to hold on tightly to are Dreams of yesterday Broken hearts of today
