Dreams of Screams

DREAMS OF SCREAMS
It’s crowded here wherein I dwell
Where the walls and halls swallow the sound of a church bell
Cross its threshold and you will see me
Me and millions more who will never be free

It’s hot in here and nothing can bring us a chill
And we’ve all been grinding too long at the mill
And then our leader demands we never repent
While no one here needs one f***ing cent

There ain’t no department stores in which to shop
As I feel our leader’s riding crop
It stings, it burns, and makes me bleed
But I am just one of an unholy breed

My cohorts and I keep searching for an exit sign
While weakened are we in flesh and spindled spine
It’s crowded here wherein I dwell
Finally we found a sign that read “There Is No Way Out of Hell”

This truly sounds like a horrible place to be. It's even sadder to think that there's no escape, no end to it. (I particularly like the 3rd stanza. It flows beautifully and is a very powerful image.)
