Dreams and Nightmares

I live for the dreams I get to see her in.
She is the heart, and I'm the man of tin.

It's the nightmares I fear cuz' she's nowhere near.
Nowhere near. My begging pleads she can't hear.

My days begin with me in a sweat,
Or, if it's a dream, I wake with regret.
For the nightmares are also reality,
And I'm now just her love's fatality.

But, in my dreams we make a stand.
In my dreams, I hold her hand.
But that's just a dream.
We ran out of steam.
And now our love she will not redeem.
