Dreams
I’ve sailed across the seven seas
and scrambled over hill and dale.
I’ve heard the wind sigh through the trees
and watched the moon grow thin and pale.
I’ve walked the walk, I’ve ridden long
and floated in a high balloon.
I’ve swum in tides, with currents strong,
and wallowed in a quiet lagoon.
I’ve tasted wines from near and far;
I’ve sampled food both cooked - and raw.
I've eaten some that looked bizarre
and some so tough I had to gnaw.
But now I'm old, I visualise
my trips across the seven seas.
At length, I sit and close my eyes
and dream - with all my memories.
