Dreams
We live in a thatched hovel but dream of a palatial abode,
Hope our life-energising light, is what we can only afford.
We may dream of a wonderland which is far and beyond,
A tantalising ocean appears, instead of a mundane pond.
We desperately crave and hanker for, what we cannot obtain,
We try to achieve what is daunting and are unable to attain,
We yearn and long for, we’re dismally dissatisfied till we get,
As Dreams are unfulfilled desires, with patience we will wait.
When we live for our dreams, there’s a meaning in our life,
We then live to achieve, no matter how difficult the strife,
Reality may be cruel, crushing, demoralising or discouraging,
Our Dreams enable the stifled, sleeping desires to take wing.
