Dreaming of You

Any time, any place, close my eyes, I see your face.
Seems like I'm always dreaming of you.
Hot or cold, thick or thin, inside out or outside in,
Seems like I'm always dreaming of you.

I'm a sober cat, a burglar with a purpose,
Brushing past your drapes at night.
But your heart, it takes a certain combination,
And I can't get it right.

Trick or treat? Status quo. Doesn't matter where I go,
Seems like I'm always dreaming of you.
Same old hunger, same old haunts; Fill my needs, but not my wants.
Seems like I'm always dreaming of you.

I'm a sad-eyed pup just staring at the cupboard,
Wishing that it wasn't bare. Need to scratch around,
Go dig a hole or something and act like I don't care.

Bashful verse, shy refrain, let this gentleman explain,
Seems like I'm always dreaming of you.
Window seat, evening train, pale magnolia in the rain,
Seems like I'm always dreaming of you.
