Dreaming of the Trees

There once was a cat named Joline
Who lived behind the screen
Sitting on her ledge
With her tail swinging over the edge

As she chews on her toy
Enjoying the noise
Wishing for a mouse
To chase around the house

The view is a tease
As she dreams of the trees
Birds flying with ease
Squirrels roaming free

The fun she would have in the tree
Her fur ruffled in the breeze
Dreams of climbing high
Seeing only the blue sky

Someday it will be her up in the tree
Finally giving in to the nightly plea
Wanting to just run free
As she lays down to dream
