Dreamers

Mysteriously you came, So alone, so wanting love, Yet too frightened to accept it. Once you let us take you in, You became our companion, Our lover. Constantly with us, Healing the breach an indiscretion had forged. Years of happiness we shared, Before evil struck you. So wanting to remain, You struggled to cling to life. One day you cuddled close, Fell asleep in my arms, Never again to awaken. Now my beloved also sleeps, Dream together my dear ones.
