Dreamed Connection

I was writing notes to be found when you were writing albums
By whatever force there is in the universe, your pen was faster
I couldn’t let my ears decay when I needed them to hear you
That sounds so small, but it was a baby step off a tall cliff

Sweetie, do you have a sliver of hope I could borrow?
I’ll leave it on your honey-do list to pick up my integrity

Julia, Good poem. I like the casualness of it and the girth of it - it has a lot of dimension from a note to a universe to a baby to a cliff. Great thought tennis! Love the sliver of hope idea - quirky but tragic. It also points out a disconnect in the relationship that is mutual - cleverly expressed. Well done.

Thank you, Peter. I often find my brain playing tennis and I'm glad I wrote this one down.
