Dream On
I have lost my get-up-and-go,
It got up and went.
I don't know how it got up
As it was looking tired. And spent.
It must have left quietly,
It never made a sound,
I can't be bothered to look for it,
I am sure it is around.
I feel lost without it,
I don't know what to do
I find this frustrating
And irritating, too.
My bed is unmade
There are unwashed dishes in the sink,
I am feeling very thirsty,
I would appreciate a drink.
My eyes feel heavy,
I will close them for a while.
I arrive in Dreamland,
Which makes my old eyes smile.
I visit Dreamland often,
It's a place I've got to know.
It's also the place,
Where I will see My Got Up and Go
