The dream of a poet
Is to see the day become night
Is to see the beautiful bloom of a flower
As it makes way to a party or to cheer an aching heart
Is to see you put your hand over mine
In a purely innocent, caring act of tenderness
Is to see the luminous sparkling light from two soul mates
Light up like the grand finale of a New Year’s fireworks celebration
Is to see young children
Of all colors, race and religions
Playing and dancing
Wisely holding hands in a wide circle
Educating some confused adults on how things should be
Is to see the wheel of evolution
Turn and become reality as it moves on
Leaving behind the greed of materialism
Is to see everyone working open-heartedly
To graduate from this Earthly school with flying colors
And then commemorate the end of our journey
By the side of our creator
Is to see the respect given to mother Earth
Which she more than deserves
Become an action done from the heart
Rather than being forced by some kind of lame law
Is to see mankind not laughing at an act of disrespect
When another brother falls down
In a moment of weakness without compassion
Is to see an argument solved
Through written words and wise knowledge
Rather than raising a fist or
Pulling the trigger of a gun
Choosing to make the pen the only weapon of choice
Is to see in a moment of grace
Through the enlightened eyes of God
And witness for the first time when everything
Becomes alive
As good starts to work in perfect harmony
With me and you
